WEEK 1 ( 12 OCT - 16 OCT)

  • We have been briefed about an integrated project course by one of the coordinators, Dr Shahrin.

  • Then, course members need to form group with maximum of 5 person

  • Each groups need to discuss and propose problems for particular targeted group of person

  • Our group have presented 5 problem including problem regarding disable person, apartment management, patient with stroke, travelers and hikers

  • We choose hikers as our targeted user and try to find solution of problem faced by them.

WEEK 2 ( 19 OCT - 23 OCT)

  • We discuss to identify the user problems and choose the best ideas

  • We distribute survey to ARC member’s group to collect data for supporting details.

  • We do more research on user’s problems and brainstorming the features that can be included.

  • We receive feedback during pitching idea session for the solution such as make a package for the hiker, the surcharge fees and choose the right user either Forestry Department or Third Party such as NGO to handle the apps.

  • We have been explained about website as it will be our report for this course

WEEK 3 ( 26 OCT - 1 NOV )

  • State target user for this project. (all members)

  • Final title for our project: Hikerspot (Aiman)

  • Listing customer requirements, design attributes, design characteristics and design numbers. (all members)

  • A task distribution on app development has been made for group members to ease the job for everybody. (Zulhelmie)

  • We find possible platforms to be used to create our apps such as Android Studio, Proto.io, Thunkable, App Inventor and Ilmiah Resources. (Faris and Ikram)

  • Design the user interface and logo for the app (Faris)

  • Planning on finishing more on the website part. (Azam)

  • Start learning some code for mobile apps.(All members)

WEEK 4 ( 2 NOV - 8 NOV )

  • Figuring suitable software to use. (suggested Ilmiah Resources and proto.io for mobile application development and prototype)

  • Apps flow chart was being arranged (Aiman)

  • Start researching how to use Google Maps in our applications. (Zulhelmie and Ikram)

  • Do outlines form for application permit (Faris)

  • Start building mobile application (Azam)

WEEK 5 ( 9 NOV - 13 NOV )

  • Finalized the flow chart of mobile apps

  • Start working on the apps

  • Doing the explore and route tab ( Aiman and Faris)

  • Working on notification tab (Zulhelmie)

  • Working on Permit Application tab (Fadhli)

  • Update website by adding Product Information column and redesign some pages (Azam)

  • Having problems in inserting the API of Google maps into the mobile apps and still trying to fix it however we also come up with plan B by maybe using Openstreetmap or MapBox.

WEEK 6 ( 16 NOV - 20 NOV )

  • We had our presentation 1 on 17 Nov (All members)

  • Dr. Mimi suggested to add emergency feature such as emergency dial number at time there's no phone line

  • Dr. Anis recommended to include weather forecast update around the mountain 

  • We have successfully attached the API for google Map in our application

WEEK 7 ( 30 NOV - 4 DEC )

  • Prototype 01 has finished

  • Task distribution been update on website

  • New logo has been introduced 

  • Getting feedback from Dr Amelia for certain features such as: 

  • Emergency button numbers should be specific to hiker’s location.

  • Current form need to be tally to required form from Forestry department

  • Adding partner or individual column in the form.

  • Approach and get review reaction from gununghub

  • Weather forecast need to be improve

  • One flowchart when hiker want to update the trail

WEEK 9 ( 14 DEC - 18 DEC )

  • Live location BETA using mapbox instead of google maps API (Azam and  Zul)

  • Contact Possible User to test our prototype and give feedback for improvement such as Gunung Hub, Pelancong Gunung Osem (PGO), Orang Gunung Kuala Lumpur (OGKL), Hikers Malaya. (Faris and Aiman)

  • Listening to presentation 2 briefing.

  • Add column for partner and individual in permit form application, changing the medium of the form from Jotform to Google Form. (Fadhli)

WEEK 8 ( 7 DEC - 11 DEC )

  • Update website based on feedback from Madam Amelia

  • Recheck the permit form, so that the required information tally with the form from forestry department

  • Approach gunung hub by email. still waiting for their reply

  • Still working for the feature for the app

  • Successfully attach the weather forecast for some mountain in the place feature, still working to put the weather forecast for every mountain

  • change the emergency call to 112, can call without reach of mobile line. 

  • Add specific emergency phone no. nearby the mountain area in place feature.

  • face difficulty to find the right way for user to pay

  • fail a few time to add live location map but yet to give up

WEEK 10 ( 21 DEC - 25 DEC )

  • Got a support letter from our supervisor, Dr. Amelia.

  • Receive review from Gunung Hub and they give some good feedback about our apps. They also show interest to buy our apps.

  • Tried to contact another NGO to review our apps but got no response from them

  • We had our presentation 2 on 24 Dec (All members)

  • Dr. Shahrin curious whether the SOS emergency in our apps can still working even the user offline or without mobile signal. For now, it can contact the emergency department nearby as long as user's device can reach the mobile signal.

  • Dr Amelia asked about our feature that still in progress if it is not finish, it still relevant to use or not. At the moment, we hope can finish this apps. If it is not, there some feature such as place feature that include the location of the mountain, forecast around the mountain and emergency contact nearby the mountain is still relevant and no other apps that we found provide those information in the same place. For our opinion, it still relevant.

WEEK 11 ( 28 DEC - 31 DEC )

  • Final touch of our website as it will be the report for our project.

  • Submission of website catalog.

  • Discuss the idea regarding Vidsume, start recording and editing.

  • Final touch up the apps and corrected what the suggestion gave by user.
